Uploading data files

To index DiXML, PDF, Library Favorites, or non-ILS MARC data, you must first upload the DiXML, PDF, Library Favorites, or non-ILS MARC data files that you want to index to a repository on the Portfolio system.

To upload data files

Choose Search Configuration from the navigation pane.

Choose Discovery Search Sources.

Choose Discovery Source Sites.

Choose the Upload Files option next to the Discovery source site for which you want to upload files.

Complete the fields, as necessary. (For details, see Fields: Upload Data Files .)

Choose OK to save your changes, or choose Cancel to discard your changes and return to Discovery Source Sites.

To remove an uploaded file from the catalog and index, delete the file from the web/sd_PDF folder and then run the Import task for the search site (for more information, see Triggering a task manually). The importer checks the web/sd_PDF directory for changes. When the index task runs, the data from the deleted file is omitted.
